Day One - The Big Plunge

So all in a matter of 36 hours I have decided to take the scary, but not so scary Medi Weightloss Clinic plunge. My mother and I discussed the weightloss plan on our trip in Chicago and the same day I made the phone call to set-up my initial consulatation. I was able to get an appointment the next day, whereas my mom had to wait a month since the Clinic has been in operation for a few months and her friends are already seeing amazing results.

Day One - So this morning I'm excited, but apprehensive. I worry, " What if I mess up, what if I don't eat the right thing." I follow the breakfast suggested in the starter packet of 2 egg whites. As I put it on my plate, I stare longingly and wonder is this even going to get me through my first hour of work. I spice up with whites a little with some Tony's cajun spice. I have 2 16oz glasses of water (of the recommended 62-128oz per day) and then read and reread my medication and vitamin list.

I pack up my lunch. I do usually have lunch at my desk, but today it is going to be very different. I have packed a Medi Pomegrante Blueberry Cereal Bar in case I need a snack at anytime during the day. For my main lunch, I have packed a turkey burger patty and some spicy mustard.

Work is fine...not too terribly stressful as It sometimes can be when I've been out of town for a week. I am constantly drinking water from the cooler ( and hence going to the ladie's room often). I am constantly looking at my clock to make sure I don't miss a pill. I have a half of a cereal bar mid morning. Thank goodness for the appetite surpressant prescription. Mid after-noon I have the other half. Today Celeste brough in homemade oatmeal cookies...if that wasn't a tease and test of will power. She also offered up some watermelon and I had to decline politely an otherwise healthy treat. By 5, I started fading fast but during the majority of the day I had a good bit of energy and was excited.

After work, I went to the grocery store to stock up on some proteins and fluids.
Powerade Zero
Sugar Free Crystal Light Cran-Pomegrante ( to drink, but also mix into my whey protein shake)
Pork
Cottage Cheese
Egg Whites
Diet Sunkist (which they also recommend to add to shake - tastes like Dreamsicle)
Single Serving Blender

That evening I babysat my nephew, which was enough to keep me busy and my mind off of my hunger and exhaustion. As I played with him, I had frozen scallops defrosting in olive oil and lemon juice. While I was waiting to cook them, we colored and played with his puppets and I consumed an entire 32 oz bottle of Powerade and that helped tremendously to tie me over. I pan seared my scallops and they were wonderful and to supplement my dinner I also had a 1/4 of cottage cheese.

10 pm I'm in bed and tired and a headache is looming. I don't sleep well, but that shall pass in a few days I'm told.
